Carrer Montcada

In the mid-12th century, the Montcada family decided to urbanize their land in order to connect the neighborhoods of La Bòria and La Ribera, creating one of the most luxurious throughways in medieval Barcelona. Today we can see that splendor in the magnificent examples of secular gothic architecture of the era in the palaces of Berenguer de Aguilar (now the Picasso Museum), Cervelló-Giudice (Maeght Galleria), Dalmases or Marqueses de Llió (now the Rocamora Clothing Museum).
